RECIPE (organizing) HELP!

Edel2019 · 28/12/2020 17:33

Help me. Please. Losing my mind over this. Losing it. 🤣🤣🤣

So I have lots of cookbooks. Lots of recipes printed off the net. I use apps too.

Is there any way I can have all my recipes in one simple place??? I presume it'd have to be online?

I have ugly binders for my printed recipes. They're so ugly though I hate looking at them. Any recommendations for chic little binders?

Completely aware I'm suggesting something to myself on my own thread but just thought....could I use Pinterest 🤔

Not perhaps the best idea but I took a photo of my scraps of paper with recipes on and emailed them to myself and then set up a folder.

Well that is a brilliant idea.....seriously, I had never thought of that

I use an app called Recipe Keeper - take a photo of the recipe and it will convert and save the text within the app with photos etc. which you can then categorise. It costs around £5 but you can add 10 recipes on the free version to see if you like it - it is great and I’ve cooked loads from the recipes I’ve saved. You can also save online recipes too and convert handwritten ones with your own photos.

I have a folder on my cloud with all the recipes I like in there and they are categorised beef, pork, sides, puddings etc etc

Any recipes online I quite fancy I save as PDF's and add them in. I have also scanned in a load and added them that way.

This is a great idea. It's so odd, the idea of not reading from a cookbook sometimes rattles me, especially when I'm tired....I'm 32 but still trying to get used to screens the odd time 🤣

I use the app Pepper plate

Cynderella · 28/12/2020 21:49

Paprika app is similar, and it has a Chrome extension so you can find a recipe, click and it's on all your devices. I also like that you can scale up or down and convert to lb/oz or kg/g etc.

I used to use pinterest for recipes but I found it a pain looking at recipes on my phone. I much prefer to have them all printed out. So I bought a folder, some plastic wallets and some dividers and now have the folder next to my cookbooks on the shelf.
