Any good "housekeeping" websites you visit?

For some reason, having the house in order has been a big part of me feeling good this year.

That's why I'm after some inspirational websites (I sometimes read "good housekeeping" and used to check out flylady) to keep me a bit sane and to have something else to pour over than the news.

Do you have any favourites, would love to know.

I use Pinterest for inspiration.

My favourite podcasts/blogs/videos are from
a slob comes clean
clutterbug
and the minimal mom
but housekeeping and organisation don’t come naturally, so these three are really helpful at keeping me motivated and breaking stuff down into manageable steps.

I’d love to find more inspirational blogs too.

TOMM

Speminalium · 02/01/2021 18:54

I follow Diane in Denmark on Instagram who is a much much much nicer , less vomit inducing translation of the Flylady system.

Apartment Therapy

MrsPerfect12 · 03/01/2021 00:17

I second TOMM, it has an app which is fab and stops me trying to do the full house daily. Away to have a look at the others.

Apartment Therapy

ScrumptiousBears · 03/01/2021 02:10

Can I ask TOMM is that based on a SAHM? There's seems to be a lot to do when your not even in the house for 4 hrs a day and those 4 hours include dinner homework reading bath and bedtimes.

WhereIsMyMojoGone · 03/01/2021 11:47

I visit Apartment Therapy and Unfuck My Habitat from time to time UMH is good for no nonsense, just get on with it motivation. Apartment therapy is more aspirational and I have to be in the mood for it.

Thatwentbadly · 03/01/2021 12:34

@ScrumptiousBears You might be misunderstanding TOMM. You do level one jobs, empty/load dishwasher/washing machine and tumble drier and then spend a max of 30 mins a day Mon to Fri doing using work.

whoamitojudge · 03/01/2021 15:28

I’ve just gone to download TOMM and it’s asking for £4.99
Is that the one?

Murmurur · 03/01/2021 16:13

@whoamitojudge start with the website. It's free and will talk you through the basics. You can pay for the app if you want to tick things off, but the website has all the details and free printables.

whoamitojudge · 03/01/2021 23:34

@Murmurur. thank you I’ll have a look

MrsPerfect12 · 05/01/2021 01:13

I prefer the app. I couldn't get to grins with all the paper copies. Quick check and I'm done. Well worth the £4.99 IMO

Galwaygirl · 05/01/2021 09:22

TOMM app amazing! Makes me more focused and not trying to do everything at the same time with no structure, well worth the money

Bin85 · 06/01/2021 08:24

I use bits from all these:-
TOMM
FlyLady
Declutter Dollies
Serenely Sorted

So I know what to do just need to work on doing it!!
They can all be found on Facebook and/or Instagram

MrsNWT · 10/01/2021 01:20

Thanks for the inspiration! Something new for me to obsess over Grin

Will check them out first thing tomorrow.

I like all these previously mentioned. Have got a little bit obsessed with these as a way of coping with lockdown, maybe. Also really like The Secret Slob on YouTube. It's amazing how far she has come in two or so years. I use a combination of Flylady and TOMM. Flylady is wider than just cleaning and is helpful for me in terms of morning and evening routines. I also really like the weekly blessing hour which sounds strange but is just a quick tidy/ surface clean of main areas. With Flylady, there is a lot of jargon you have to get beyond first and TOMM is more practical which is helpful.
