Recommendations for cordless hoover?

I've had a Dyson v6. It's shit. I've had a replacement battery. I've religiously cleaned the filters, replaced with new ones. It's shit. It constantly flashes and has to be plugged back in for 10 seconds before it can give me another 1 min of hoovering. Not so cordless.

So I'm not keen on another Dyson.

What other brands do you recommend? Should I reconsider Dyson?

I've just bought a shark, its a bit heavier than a dyson but compared to my mothers dyson (which lasts about 5 minutes!) i've managed a good 30 minutes of hoovering from one battery. I bought one with 2 batteries so you can just switch them if you need it for longer

Thanks @rosemarypancakes

Definitely a shark. I love mine. We have had dysons for years. Then took the plunge and ordered a shark (half the price) we will never go back.

Thank you @Squeekybummum

Interesting 2 votes for sharks.

Following, as I have a dyson v6 cordless too, it’s about 3 years old. I haven’t had any problems with it at all, but we clearly like the same type of thing (obviously, you like yours to work too, which is understandable).

I have every make and style of hoover known to mankind. In this house alone I have a Roomba, a Miele, a Sebo, a GTech Airram, a weird one I bought at the Ideal Home and a Shark `cordless. The Shark is far and away my favourite. I'm even considering getting another one so I can have one upstairs and one downstairs.

Ohhh thanks. Shark is coming out well here.

I'm also in the market for a cordless hoover and have been looking at the sharks but they don't get consistently good reviews.
My main issue is doing the stairs due to disabilities. I'd love if it was good on hard floors as well as carpets.

What shark models are you guys recommending please?

Chasingsquirrels · 10/12/2020 20:44

I got a Tineco about a year ago and have been very pleased with it, although I've not previously had a cordless to compare to.
Having said that I got a robovac a few months ago, so only really use the cordless for the stairs now.
I LOVE the robovac.

We have a G Tech and love it.

Love my Tineco!

I’ve had the shark anti hair wrap thingy for a couple of weeks now and love it - but it’s my first ever cordless so that side of it is still very much a novelty.

It is quite top heavy so I warned my mum off getting one on that basis alone. Other than that it’s the first vacuum I’ve used the tools for - probably because they come with a little bag to put them in - and the stairs are soooo much easier now.

The anti hair wrap is great cos I have cats and hair which sheds like nobody’s business but it just sweeps it all up without me having to follow up with a damp cloth which I did before.

After 3 Dysons, they can do one. SOOOOO pissed off with their up selling. Batteries for older models (ie 2+ years) were not available online when my battery died a few months back. I had to ring them and then got the "it would be so much better to upgrade to a new model" spiel - quite insistent. Gave DD the old Dyson (with a compatible battery from Amazon) and got me a Shark. TBH, it is quite a lot heavier than the Dyson but has better suction and FAR superior battery life.

I bought the Shark IZ251UKT back in June and on the whole I would recommend it. It's definitely worth buying two batteries and a double charger. The main negatives are the anti hair wrap doesn't completely work for me. I have long hair and a dog and find myself taking it apart each week to cut the hair loose and pull out the fur. Similarly the filter and pipes all need checking and unblocking regularly. Having said that it's relatively quick and easy to pull it apart and put it back together again. I definitely do more vacuuming now than I did before I bought it, so that's a big plus! Wink

I’ll be honest. I have 2 sharks, a corded and a cordless. Corded is grand for my carpets (it’s a liftaway), and the cordless is grand for hard floors.
