Jellycat toy is disgusting

Has anyone successfully refluffed a jellycat toy up?
We have a bashful bunny but it’s almost matted and no amount of gentle or rough brushing will fluff him up.
Son won’t accept the imposter bunny (even though it’s been dirtied up a bit to look as loved as the OG)
Any advise is welcomed!

Could you put the imposter in his bed for a few weeks and try again? it’s often about the smell as much as the look of a snuggly.

I put them in the washing machine.

I've just remembered that when dd was little I used to let her have a bath with the jellycat in the morning as a ruse then put it in the washing machine when she wasn't looking.

I've put ours through the wash and then tumbled it and it's looks perfect but I saw this on FB

I put them in a pillow case then wash in the machine and tumble on low. Had no problems with JellyCat or most other soft toys and they come out lovely and fluffy!

Yes, wash in a pillow case, comb with conditioner when damp, rewash in pillowcase then tumble dry. Sorted.

Conditioner it is! Thank you for the tips!
