One that takes sliced bread of varying heights and thickness. Has a thing to hold rolls and croissants.
One that will last more than a year.
Anybody????
TIA

Bumping for you as I also would like one! 😊

I seem to have been unlucky with toasters. They always break after a year or so. The one I am using atm was clearly designed for tiny slices of bread. Also, DH is always setting the smoke alarm off - of course that might because he never cleans it. I just want one that is easy to use and well designed.

Oh dear! We have a Morphy Richards one but the heat settings are temperamental and tends to burn on the lowest one 🤨 hopefully someone with a good toaster will come along soon! 😁

We have a Dualit that I bought second hand in the 90s (95, I think). It still works as if new, and I think it's lovely. It's very basic 2 or 4 slices and set the time yourself, but I think there is a model with a warming tray.

Another vote for Dualit. Received a 4 slice classic toaster as a wedding present & still going strong. Has a bagel setting, defrost setting and croissant tray.

Morphy Richards Evoke will take a normal slice of bread but has no croissant tray.

We have a Dualit that is probably twenty years old. It has broken in that time but it is easily and cheaply fixable. Probably not as cheap as just replacing it every time with a £5 student special from Wilko though.

It has two standard slots and a basket thing for wider loads.

Another vote for Dualit. You can send them off to be repaired by them too... cheaper in longer term than lots of £5 specials too.

Another vote for Dualit here, they do seem to go on and on; and if they break you can usually get them repaired.

You won't find such a thing, they didn't exist, for an invention so old, they still haven't got it right.

However, have always heard good about Dualit toasters and nearly all commercial settings have these (I can't justify the cost for how little use my toaster gets - I top out at £40)
