Would you let your newborn sleep on a sheepskin that had been 'moused' ?

We've had a bit of a mouse problem in our house and one of teh casualties was a lambskin that I bought for my ds when he was tiny thatt I wanted to offer to my SIL who is due soon. It has been a bit nibbled in places, but there are also some nasty looking stains on it, which must be poo and/or wee. I've got some of the special wash stuff and will obviously do that, but I'm not sure whether I would want my own ds to have his face where mouse wee has been, let alone a newborn. Would bleaching it be okay? Maybe I'll leave it stained, so she can see what it's like and then we can chop the damaged bit off if she is still keen to have it?

Probably not... wash it and see - can it be washed in a machine?

Thought as much, but often think I'm a bit of an overprotective first time mum and just wondered if that's what I was being in this case.Obviously not. I'll put it in the cat's basket after chopping off the manky bit.
