Cast iron pan supports on cooker

I have cast iron supports on my cooker, they are a pain to clean. I was told only to wash with soapy water and nothing else as it's cast iron. Some parts of it has silver marks, I don't know what that is, I tried scrubbing it. Is the coating that's come off it? It's really annoying as it's a new cooker that I've only had for a few months, and clean after every use.
I've attached photos, on one of the pic you can see it looks rather orange, is that rust? Because it's so hard to clean off!
I know cast iron can rust if water is left on it, is that the case here, am always drying when there's water fall out from pans as am worried about it rusting

Honestly OP mine were so blackened with age (and possibly burnt on grease) that yours look pristine to me! I think mine started off black anyway which helped.

I think you’re probably best leaving the supports a tiny bit oily (not covered in oil but just not stripped with soap iyswim, ie “seasoned” like a cast iron pan) to protect from rust.

You could oil them yourself.
Wipe them over with kitchen towel.
Will darken them, prevent the Scrapes from pans, as lubricated, prevent rust.

You are probably overly cleaning it.

What oil do I use?

Any oil with a high smoking point (NO olive oil). Sunflower and vegetable work well. Some people swear by flaxseed but I find it flakes quicker than other options.

Ok thank you 😊 @WhiskyForChristmas
