Do you wash trainers in the washing machine? If you do, which cycle do you use to get them clean?

I just put them through an hour long 40 degree wash. Works really well.

GreyishDays · 14/11/2020 08:57

I do a 20 degree slow spin (400 thingies).

theneverendinglaundry · 14/11/2020 09:46

I use the cotton cycle on my machine as it's longer, at 30 degrees using Halo sports wash.

ANewDoll · 14/11/2020 11:27

Thank you. Presumably, the washing machine survived the ordeal!

I used the pink stuff on dirty white trainers yesterday came up nice & white.

theneverendinglaundry · 14/11/2020 14:39

Yes the washing machine survived! If you dont want them clanging about in the drum you can put them in with a towel.

RusholmeRuffian · 14/11/2020 14:44

It depends on the trainers. I'm not putting expensive suede trainers in the washing machine! I use Sneakers ER and clean then by hand

Runkle · 14/11/2020 14:49

I was juts going to say I've used the pink stuff paste on the soles too. They came up sparkling. If it's the mesh that's dirty I would just put them on a 20/30c wash in a pillow case.

I have been putting trainers in the washing machine for decades, never had an issue. But only if they are not suede. In that case I use the Pink Stuff on the outside only

scotsllb · 17/11/2020 18:04

I put mine in on a 30 and put washing powder and some bicarbonate soda in and they always come up nice. I use trainer whitner on the bits that look a bit grey
