It's not worth getting rid of a wasps nest at this time of year is it???

There's one under eaves of the house, the dead and dying wasps seem to be falling into the front porch area but are not actually getting into the house at all. Just means I have to hoover them up every day. Do wasps go back to the same nest every year or do their nests cause any structural damage? (wasps nest virgin ). TIA

Don't know really, but I'd get rid anyway.

I've got one and I'm not bothering. If they're there next year I'll sort it then.

When we had a nest in the loft we called out the "exterminator" - having thought about it I decided to cancel the appointment (didn't want the chemicals in the loft) but he turned up anyway and his advice was if the wasps are not getting into the house or causing a problem leave them alone. In the winter when there's been a hard frost (we waited until there had been two!) - his advice was poke it with a long stick and if there's no activity remove it. If there is activity wait until after the next frost!

Ok. Thanks everyone. I will leave it alone. It's obviously been up there all summer and have not had any problems, it's only now as they are dying off that they are falling into the porch. Flamingtoaster - don't fancy poking it with a large stick think i'll just live and let live!!
