How can I clean a REALLY dirty Philips airfryer?

Just that, really. It wasn't washed regularly at the start, and now there is so much burnt-on grease in the non-stick tray that I'm at a loss as to how to remove it all without damaging the surface. I've tried soaking it in very hot water with washing up liquid, but that barely shifts any of the grease. I don't think I can use oven cleaner/caustic soda on the non-stick surface. Is there anything heavy-duty out there that I can use without damaging it?

Pink stuff?

Elbow grease 100%

Unfortunately I've reached the limits of what I can do with elbow grease, and am hoping for some chemical assistance.

I hadn't heard of The Pink Stuff before (just Googled it). Do you know if it will damage a non-stick surface? I can't find that information online.

Elbow grease (the product, not the effort.)
The spray is fantastic.

The pink stuff is slightly abrasive, so I don't know if it'll be compatible with a non-stick surface.

Sorry I meant elbow grease the product too 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Haha! I didn't realise that was also the name of a product. Would it be fine on a non-stick surface then?

Right, I've ordered a spray bottle from Amazon. Reviewers were also raving about it, so it seems like a good thing to have around, whether or not it's suitable for the airfryer (though hopefully it will be). I'm having a bit of a battle with the oven too, so I'll try it on that as well. Thanks for the suggestions — I'll post a 'before' and 'after' if the 'after' ends up looking impressive enough... Grin

@FiveSecondsMore Grin I think elbow grease should be fine, it's non abrasive (at least the spray is!)

If not, it's a fantastic product to have around anyway. It shifts the stains/marks/grease off of just about anything!

I moved into my new home and the extractor fan was coated in a thick layer of grease. It was all off after one elbow grease 'session'. Works a treat!

Elbow Grease is really useful in my house. Brilliant on anything greasy - even pretreating laundry. Worked a treat recently on grass stains too

Fairy liquid.

And either a toothbrush (not one you're going to brush teeth with obviously) or a sonic scrubber if you have one. That's what I used on my sandwich toaster when it got covered In marshmallows, butter, Nutella and golden syrup courtesy of DD
