Getting yellow milk stains out baby clothes

Hi,

Anybody got any ideas? I researched online and found a suggestion.

I soaked the clothes in oxi action stain remover overnight & washed on a cold wash because it said hot wash can sometimes bond the milk protein even further into the fabric.

Well, this is after doing all that..

I know these are a bit extreme and maybe beyond salvage but just to give you an idea what I mean. There are other pieces that aren't quite as bad that I'd love to save (sentimental).

It's from baby formula.

Thanks!

Are these the kind that develop over time?

I find that what gets it out is sunlight. Wash using a stain remover , then dry in direct sunlight. It works even if it's grey and rainy but you might have to leave them out for a couple of days (at which point rewash if they have been rained on!)

Yeah, they aren't just from one wear. It built up over time Blush

Thanks, I will try putting them outside at some point.

Even on a sunny windowsill works.

I boiled mine in the oxy stuff - that got out milk and even banana stains I thought were never coming out.

Unfortunately it also removed the dinosaur that was printed on the front of one of the t-shirts, but you can't have everything.

Ooh also worth a try if all is lost, thanks.

How long did you boil for?

Oh no, by over time I mean you put the baby clothes away all nice and clean when they're outgrown and you get them down a year or two later for the next baby and they have suddenly got yellow stains all over them that weren't there before.

Another vote for sunlight, works wonders!

Brill! There is a patch of sun on the windowsill today. Just need to get the cat to move away from it first!
