Dehumidifier advice

Hello!

After the success of my heated airer thread, I thought I would come back and ask about dehumidifiers.... as you can tell, it's all glam here! 😂

We have a small flat (2 bed/ 2 reception) with a bathroom and kitchen which are very poorly ventilated. The bathroom window ALWAYS has condensation on it. The flat is split level.

Am I better off buying one, very big one and doing the whole flat, or two medium ones?

Total sq meter is about 700, over the two floors. I need one that's relatively quiet and energy efficient, and preferably doesn't break the bank....

I'm happy to spend up to about £130 in total...

Thanks!

Hopeful bump. It appears that dehumidifier chat is less interesting than heated airer a!

I'd get a big one. I bought a big one, and a little one. The little one was totally useless. I can't remember what make mine is, but I paid about £120

I'd imagine the little ones have a smaller reservoir to collect the water. As they can fill with water very quickly in a damp house a larger one might make more sense.

If it's just for the window, you need a karcher window vac.
Where is the condensation from your heated airer going?
I have a meaco (good reviews) which I use when I am drying clothes indoors.
Can you improve the ventilation in your kitchen / bathroom eh: more efficient extractor fan?
From my very limited understanding, dehumidifiers work best in warm rooms with the door closed. If you have a sink/basin/toilet you will need to close the lid/put in the plug to stop the machine just sucking water out of your drains.

Oh one of the reasons I want one is for the clothes airer! The rooms with the main issues are the kitchen/bedrooms.

The bathroom has no extractor fan but we're planning on renovating next year so don't want to put one in now.
