Going through brave and sort out my loft- what to do with baby things?

My loft has a mountain of baby clothing that I stashed in the loft hoping that I would have another baby-my youngest is now 11! Sadly I know at the age of 44 I need to get rid of the clothes but not sure whether I just take them to the tip. Don't think any local charity shops would take them. Any thoughts?

freecycle?

Olio is good for this, you list items you have for free and local people can collect from you.

Dont take them to the tip, there will be loads of charities that would love to take them! Try local charity shops or alternatively specialist charities that work with disadvantaged parents. Im sorry you never had another but by giving these clothes to the right places you are doing a great thing and helping many babies who need it.

I bought a couple of bundles from local Facebook which sound exactly the same idea. She just washed and bagged them and sold them as one pile. I was delighted and Dd is in clothes completely different to everyone else.

Try freegle if you have a local site. Baby things often go. You offer them for free and someone comes and collects them.
I am having a clear out too - it's therapeutic in itself
Do keep a couple of special outfits though if you want to. Smile

Oh yes to special things, some crafters on etsy and Facebook are doing beautiful memory blankets, quilts out of favourite baby outfits.

Young Planet is a great app for this

See if there's a local Babybank in your area. Works much like a foodbank.

womens refuge

use some to make a memory bear? they can be the weight your baby was at birth and made up of cuttings of outfits, very cute.
rest, a womens shelter for those who have babies?

Women's shelter/refuse - we have Surestart here in the Midlands which helps young families/new Mothers etc I have donated my DS old clothes/ toys and nappies to them.
