Getting a new washing machine and really confused about permanent press

My old washing does not have it and I'm just been washing on cold synthetic as there is no setting but my new washing has not got the permanent press but the easy care.

So question one is have I been ruining by wash on synthetic cold wash.

And the second how will I wash my one and only red 100% cotton permanent press shirt when the rest are dark? Can this be wash by hand?

I'm really really confused :(

I just wash everything together on 30 degrees easy care (except for whites and linens) and chuck in a colour magic sheet if it looks like anything will run

Is that helpful?

I'd wash the red shirt on it's own. Modern machines adjust the water level to the size of the load so won't waste water.
Wouldn't warm (30c) have been better for permanent press, rather than cold? I don't see that it would ruin anything though. Maybe just not the most efficient wash.

It's odd I asked them can I wash 1 to 3 items and they said the min it can go is half the 8kg tank but when I asked them you can wash single through the app on your phone they said you can indeed.

In manual they said on easy care can take a max of 3kg

Yes I got easy care on new machine, so it's ok to wash synthetic and cotton together? Is it ok to put Heavy stuff like a hoodie with say t shirts and underwear?

What on earth is a permanent press shirt?

Lostone87 · 10/09/2020 20:49

It's a special material that doesn't wrinkle and needs a permanent press wash to keep it flat. The symbol has a bucket with one line under it.

Hope that makes sense in not good at explaining things.
