Cleaning radiators?

Has anyone got a tip for cleaning inside the top of double radiators which have a fixed grille? All of ours are like this and they have a ledge running along the inside of the front and back which gets really dirty. I have tried everything (toothbrushes and grout brushes won't reach) and the only solution seems to be damp cotton buds. This takes forever and uses lots every time - has anyone a better idea?

We have also tried hoovering and blowing with an air compressor, but the kitchen ones especially must have a bit of grease making everything stick, so that doesn't work. I can't help thinking this must a problem for lots of people, and maybe I'm missing a simple solution?

No it really doesn't. I even checked with my husband in case I was being thick, but they are definitely all welded on. Maybe different brands do different things.

Blow dust off with a hairdryer and then hoover underneath.

Also you can use a big clean brush like a large-ish paintbrush to get in between the grille.

Thanks - we tried a really powerful compressor (DH trailed one round outside the house and put the pipe through the window) but even that didn't work on the kitchen ones.

I'll try a paintbrush, that might work. I was hoping someone would say - oh yes you buy this specialist item from Amazon - but it's obviously not that simple.....Sad

I don't have a solution for this OP, but really need to know the answer too. It drives me bonkers.
