Do folks still use tea cosies?

Just that, really! Found a lovely looking teapot but am thinking that I'm going to have to cover it up with a cosy to keep the tea warm. Do people still use tea cosies? If so, any links to stylish ones (if there's such thing!)? Thanks in advance. :-)

Only if they use teapots they and like their tea hot! Grin

I do use one, but sorry OP, cannot recommend. It's one I got from a craft stand I was passing, hand made by the lovely lady there.
It's an unusual design that encloses the bottom of the teapot too so, although it works well and it's beautiful, it's a bit of a faff trying not to spill any tea on it. So I'd recommend one of those just over the top ones - like this Wayfair tea cosy

If you can knit, there are some amazingly funky ones out there. You won't see your teapot though.

Ha, thanks @stickygotstuck!

I actually had the one you linked down already as a possibility....

My dad has one, I think a friend knitted it for him.

Margo34 · 27/08/2020 12:26

🙋‍♀️ I do! My friends and siblings find it odd that I use a teapot, loose tea and own a tea cosy in my 30s (I get lots of OAP jokes) but I don't care, my tea cosy is a knitted chicken and I love it! Lives pride of place on my windowsill when not in use 😂

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 27/08/2020 12:29

Yes! They can't touch you for it! I have a big sheep, I think it came from Ringtons a while back Grin

lotsolove · 27/08/2020 12:42

I think Emma Bridgwater has them on her website.

EasilyDelighted · 27/08/2020 12:48

No, we have a double walled insulated teapot (similar to a thermal coffee mug) which keeps it hot for an hour or so.

mawbroon · 27/08/2020 13:11

Yes! I splashed out recently on a tea cosy and matching oven gloves Grin

CatsMother66 · 01/09/2020 01:04

Yes, have always used one, tea is much nicer made in a pot. We even have a small one that we take out with us and put on pots of tea bought out! We get raised eyebrows but our tea stays hot throughout the meal! There are loads of fun knitted ones about but the best are the padded ones, with the duvet type foam.

planningaheadtoday · 01/09/2020 01:23

I always wish I had one. My tea pot goes cold quickly and I like a lazy breakfast.

whysorude · 02/09/2020 09:48

Yes, an over-the-top one. There's nowt like hot tea and a natter with friends.Smile

londonscalling · 04/09/2020 12:08

I don't even have a teapot!

Bowerbird5 · 04/09/2020 15:38

I have three. One given to me by my daughter with an intricate merry go around, a mad one of a basket with bright coloured flowers on top and a Christmas one. I tend to use them more in winter as our kitchen was cold ( until last Christmas when we bought a range) and craft fairs often have them or eBay is bound to have some.

I can hardly wait for my Ulster Weavers “bee keeper” tea cozy to arrive!!

Oh that is gorgeous!

BikeRunSki · 04/09/2020 21:51

I have a have knitted one I got in a charity shop about 25 years ago!

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 04/09/2020 22:11

We only have a tea cosy because a friend who used to stay and had to have a pot of tea first thing every morning (we just stick teabags in mugs) bought us one.

However it fits our cafetière quite nicely and keeps the coffee hot, so it’s still used for that.

cautiouscovidity · 05/09/2020 17:34

I do! I got mine from White Stuff - they sold them as a charity fundraiser thing they did each autumn a few years ago - I think it only cost £3.

This sounds like something I need. I LOVE tea. Proper leaves, properly brewed. Where did you get your teapot from please?
EasilyDeleted · 09/09/2020 19:25

Sadly it was discontinued, I was talking to someone else about it recently and looked it up. If you google insulated teapot or thermal teapot there are a few others out there
