Hi, we are looking to get a new dryer and need to get a Samsung one so I can stack it on top of Samsung washing machine. Google is full if mixed reviews so wanted to ask if anybody has one and will they recommend it. Would appreciate if you could share model number if possible.

Thanks a lot

I have and I hate it with a vengeance. It is a DV80M50133X and it replaced a 20 year old Miele which only died because of water damage.

It is slow, so slow and still doesn’t dry things effectively. It takes great pleasure in twisting sheets and duvet covers into tight knotted bundles, still wet on the inside, and as I have a large holiday let this drives me insane. It is better with clothes and towels, but there is still a good chance when it plays its irritating little song they will still be damp.

Because of the holiday let, and the grotty weather, I’ve had to supplement it with a cheap Beko which is brilliant. Funnily enough I was going to leave a scathing review on AO.com but felt embarrassed as all the other reviews are 5 star. I bought a Bosch heat pump dryer for the holiday let and that also seems to take ages, the the time factor maybe the heat pump, but TBH sometimes I think blowing on my washing would be as effective as my hated Samsung (and I too have the washing machine which works perfectly).

My Miele was wonderful, for 20 years it put up with being grossly overloaded and it always dried effectively. I had no idea there could be such a difference between machines.

Thanks for your reply. Heat pump does take longer but there seem to be less and less condenser type machines available so future seems to be heat pump with efficiency.

I need to now think of an alternative. Which had reviewed a different Samsung dryer and rated it OK for use so now I have a dilemma whether to trust them when a real user like yourself is having problems..

We have a heat pump dryer and it takes nearly 4 hours to dry bedding and 3 hours for a normal clothes load.

I've got a candy heat pump one. It's really good, although it's not instant heat so it's not good, say if you wanted to quickly wash and dry one thing. It also really tangles bedding, so I don't use it for that.

But I use mine a lot, we are a big family and I seem to be washing all the time... it generally takes around 1hr 30 for a load of washing to dry, maybe slightly longer if it was a full load of towels. I find it doesn't shrink the clothes as much as previous tumblers with a more instant, intense heat. I really rate it and would be lost without it.

Mine has the water tank in the door as I also have mine stacked above the washer.
