Just been looking at these online and they're cheaper than I thought! Has anyone used one and is it worth it? I broke my vax and can't afford another one just yet and various foods have been smooshed into every carpet by DD. What products do I have to buy for it? And can I clean my sofas with the handheld?

Only ever hired one but loved it! Had my carpets looking new again

Interesting, I was thinking of hiring one from our local coop supermarket. Are you talking hiring or buying?

Hiring - about £25 for 24 hours for rug doctor and handheld from Tesco @Karwomannghia Smile

Yes, I've hired them a few times, they're amazing. They try and flog you the special rug doctor shampoo, which is very expensive, but the bog standard carpet shampoo you can buy for a couple of pounds in the supermarket is just as good

Yes we used one, you’ll be horrified at the dirt that comes out your carpets Grin

They are quite heavy to lift in and out of the car and then into the house. and you have to have ID before they will let you take it away. I've tried all sorts over the years but really, the easiest thing is to get someone in to do it. it more expensive, but not a lot more.

You don’t need ID if it’s booked online you get sent a code for the locker, no human interaction needed.
