Toilet cleaning

I'm rubbish with cleaning and looking for tips on how to clean the toilet (especially since we've had a nasty bug in the house).

And specifically, how do you clean whatever it is you've used to clean the toilet (eg sponge/gloves/loo brush if you use one)?

I wipe round the toilet everyday with antibacterial spray and loo roll and run bleach around the rim to be left for a while.

Once a week I clean the whole bathroom "properly" with a washable cloth, do the loo last and wash the cloth in a hot wash with the towels. I suspect the experts would say they should be washed separately but we seem to do OK on it.

Gloves, I wash my "hands" with soap whilst wearing them, when I've finished

I squirt bleach under the rim, spray flash bleach all around it (seat, flush button, cistern top etc) and then use toilet roll to clean where I’ve sprayed & put the cleaning t roll in the toilet. I then have an old toothbrush that I use to scrub under the rim & the rest of the toilet bowl including under the water line and, holding the toothbrush under the expected flow of water, I flush the loo so rinsing the brush. It’s full of bleach so it’s clean. The T brush lives behind the toilet out of sight.

Thank you for the replies. @FinnyStory once you've cleaned the cloth in the washing machine does it just live with other cloths?

Wear rubber gloves. Spray bathroom cleaner round most of it, wipe with loo roll, flush.

Then toilet cleaner in, leave to do its job. Scrub with loo brush. I have a looblade, so bristle free. Brilliant things.

Wash gloved hands before removing gloves.

No, I have blue cloths for the bathroom (blue for the loo) and once washed and dried they live on top of the bathroom cabinet

Squirt ecover around the bowl and let it sit, then spray the rest of the toilet and seat with an antibacterial spray. I leave it to sit for 5-10 minutes while I clean something else. Then wipe down toilet with a blue cloth, and scrub the bowl with a toilet brush.

Sometimes I use bleach instead of ecover but not often.

The cloth gets washed with other cleaning cloths and towels. All at 60 degrees to kill any nasties.

Thick bleach and toilet paper. Dribble bleach carefully all over loo, wipe away with toilet paper and flush.

For me, a loo isn't clean unless it's bleached.
