Cordless stick vacuum

I'm confused and going around in circles!

We're after a cordless stick vacuum...probably looking at mid price range.

I've tried my SIL Dyson and it's light and easy to use but I find it strange that you have to press the button the entire time.

I've tried my MIL Vax Blade 4 which seems very heavy.

I've heard that Sharks are good but they seem to be the heaviest on specification (about 4kg). Do they feel heavy to use or does the weight distribution mean that it's ok?

Any recommendations on what to get or to avoid? Please mention models as well as brands as there appear to be so many!

I love my Gtech AirRam. Love it very much indeed! Grin

I've got the Bosch Athlet 25.2V and it seems pretty good. Very light, easy to use as a stick vac, easy to empty, picks up all except particularly big flat things. Haven't tried to use it as a handheld - very faffy to dismantle - but TBH haven't felt the need as it's so quick and easy to use.

I got the 'athlette'. I love it. It's brill for a daily whip round especially on hard floors and means dirt doesn't build up. However, it doesn't replace a chord one as u can't good a whole house properly on one charge. I also have a Henry and a Dyson, the cordless just means I don't need to get them out as often.

I have a cordless Dyson and do NOT recommend. I wish I'd just got a plug in vacuum, to be honest. The Dyson has to be totally taken apart every so often to clean the dust which gets right into every part of it, you literally have to unscrew everything. This is the only way to keep it working otherwise it cuts out or loses suction. Ridiculous.

We have a Hoover, the pet one, and love it, ours has a clip to move over to keep it on all the time if you wish, it's really light too.

It doesn't do as good job as our corded, upright dyson, but for ease and quickness I still love it!

No, it doesn't replace a coded vac. I have a Shark Liftaway (also good) as my 'proper' vac. But I use the Bosch most days, whereas the Shark only comes out once a week or fortnight.
