Question for any cleaners out there

I have finally hired a cleaner which I'm so excited about. I want to be a really good client and just wondered if there are any little things I could do to make life easy for my cleaner? Obviously will tidy up and communicate well, but thinking of any little extras that make a difference eg having access to drinks and biscuits

I'm sure I saw a thread like this a while back but can't find it now. If anyone can link to it that would be fab :-)

Is your cleaner bringing her own products? If so then I would advise them if there are certain products you need to use on certain surfaces.
I've had clients in the past that have special floor or worktop products.
If you are providing cleaning materials check which they prefer to use and provide plenty of cloths.
I like to wash my cloths after every use, so leave them bagged up for the client to pop through the washer ready for my next clean, or take them away and do them myself for those who don't provide materials.
I find a list each week with jobs they need doing helps me prioritise.
And give them a few weeks to settle in to a routine. The first few cleans may take longer as they are starting from scratch and need to get a feel of your house.
I hope this helps

Thanks @flamingo40 that's helpful. We are providing products and I've offered to get any that she prefers working with. That's a good point about the cloths- I've got a bit of a cloth stash from my Mrs Hinch obsession days so hopefully plenty available :-)

You might have mentioned it but tidy away your clutter, the amount of time I have to waste trying to clean/dust around pointless clutter is so annoying when I could be spending that time actually cleaning. Oh and washing your pots up is helpful! ☺️

No problem.
Yes to tidying away clutter where possible too as mentioned.
I'm sure you're a clean and tidy person but I can't tell you how many houses I've been to that aren't.
A good cleaner will really appreciate simple things like rubbish in the bin, clothes or any towels off the floor etc. Just so they can get around and do their job quickly and efficiently.
Remember they're there to clean your house not spend the majority of their time moving things out of the way to be able to clean in each room.
I'm happy to tidy as I go along cleaning but some houses it's impossible and can take up a lot of my time just clearing the way to clean. We all loved busy lives so I don't mean show home tidy!
Once they're in a routine ask them if they're happy to do extra little jobs, like cleaning out cupboards, one of my favourites I'm sad I know 😂xx
