Using a cleaner

Considering engaging the services of a cleaner (agency).

Is it a lifesaver or expensive nice to have?

Well, I've never used an agency (seems an unnecessary expense to pay on top of the cleaner), but I LEURVE to walk into my house after my cleaner has been. It literally puts a smile on my face as I walk in each week.
She is brilliant, and does SO much more in her two hours than I could ever get done. The fact she is coming in also makes me tidy up, rather than 'leaving it to tomorrow'.

In my honest opinion, getting a little help with the cleaning chores is definitely worth it. I occasionally book a cleaning company to assist me with a deep clean of my whole house. I save up time for myself and have a weekend to enjoy, instead of cleaning my property whole Saturday. Magic PRO Cleaning UK are the cleaners I use. Coming from experience, I can say that they can clean absolutely anything. Hope you find an appropriate cleaner for you - I highly suggest you give it a try and live a chore-free live for a minute :)

Stay safe & take care!

Depends who you are; as a pregnant full time working mum of a toddler and now a newborn and toddler it has been a lifesaver. In the future I might see it as an expensive nice to have.
We pay £60 a month for a fortnightly clean and I’d rather spend money on that than anything else currently.

I wish you had not said using a cleaner. You are paying someone to clean your home. You are not using them. Sorry but this grated on me.

Cleaners are human and deserve respect :)

@Anordinarymum I'm not sure I agree, I'm a lawyer and if someone said "I'm using a lawyer to help with my house move" I wouldn't be offended.

I love our cleaner and the longer we have her the less it feels like a treat and more a necessity! That's even as the kids get older and supposedly less messy Grin

I love my cleaner. She comes for four hours every week. Personally, I felt quite guilty when she first started but, at that point, I was working part-time with two small kids and it made life a bit easier.

It is an extravagance but we all spend our money on different things. We have quite a big house and I feel I enjoy it more having help with the cleaning. She does a much better job of the bathrooms than we did and she's also far quicker than us; during lockdown, it took me at least 6 hours to do what she does in 4.

That said, I still spend quite a lot of time cleaning but it's more of a touch up than a proper clean of every room. It also depends on how well you get on with your cleaner - mine is absolutely lovely so it's a pleasure to have her around.

Lifesaver for me. I'd rather spend the time doing something else and it takes me at least 10 hours to achieve what they do in 4.

One of the easiest ways of making your life better and, at the same time, providing employment for someone

Why wouldn't you?

GreekOddess · 13/07/2020 20:21

I think I meant using a cleaning service but I take your point.
