Hello and well done too, to us all

My routines are back on track so I am very grateful to FLY for that. My Dh followed my control journal pretty much to the letter yesterday ...he did most of my afternoon and evening routine for me!!!

We are all full of colds here...very grim...I'm exceedingly grateful to Dh this morning!!!! I'm also dead chuffed that he actually read my routines and did them!!! Makes it all worth while!

Well I look forward to having you all over on the regular FLY thread now

See you there xx

Morning Guys.

I'm not doing too badly. It's a bit tricky with sick baby but I now have my routines written out. I just went to find my morning routine and found I've done everything except for no 2, 10 and 11.

Morning routine

  8. Clear away breakfast things
  9. Think about what you want for dinner - take out meat if necessary.
  10. 2 minute hotspot
  11. 5 minute room rescue

I have to sort my stairs out later as there are lots of things requiring homes there so that will be my hotspot.

Mission is also a tough one for me

SlightlyMadSweden · 24/09/2007 09:41

Jst bookmarking for later....I hope I feel better soon or I will need to start baby steps again as I havn't done a proper full routine for over a week.

Don't like the sound of "We are going to work on major decluttering in every Zone through the end of October"....I don't want to throw things away....

SlightlyMadSweden · 24/09/2007 09:42

LOL at the thought of us being Maggots....Larvae is a much more polite term....

Not sure if they will let us on the main thread if they know about the hospital

TheMadHouse · 24/09/2007 09:42

SMS - I know what you mean, until now I have just moved it round the house and the spare room looks like a war zone

harleyd · 24/09/2007 09:43

i wanna stay a baby wawawawawawawawawa

TheMadHouse · 24/09/2007 09:44

I will try to be more polite, I am somewhat of a frank northerner. Tend to call a spade a spade type of thing

SlightlyMadSweden · 24/09/2007 09:52

harleyd larvea (or maggots) don't have arms to flap...legs yes but arms no....

harleyd · 24/09/2007 09:54

lol, too true

well if they had arms, i would be flapping them!

Well they are staring another babysteps thread...I don't think anyone would blame you if you wanted to do it again...it would help reinforce the routines

SlightlyMadSweden · 24/09/2007 10:08

Are they....I missed that

ludaloo · 24/09/2007 10:09

harleyd · 24/09/2007 10:09

FunkyGlassSlipper · 24/09/2007 10:21

I just saw the new babysteps thread

Going back on the big one...come on, join me. We can always do babysteps too if we feel overwhelmed

BigBeeristheBigBeer · 24/09/2007 12:33

Hello fellow grublings .

Morning routine all done.

DD2 was awake half the night so she's having a long nap today which means I'm storming through the afternoon routine. On balance I'd rather she slept at night tho.

She ended up in our bed from 1am which NEVER happens in our house. I quite liked it actually, all the little snuffles and snorts .

Afternoon routine

  1. Make lunch and clear up and drink water - DONE
  2. Mission - DONE
  3. 15 mins decluttering - DONE
  4. hotspot - DONE
  5. Errands: call a local nursery; supermarket for wipes and soap; call friend * 2
  6. DD2's physio
  7. 15 mins somewhere: dust, and clean doorhandles/light switches
  8. Hang up wet washing/put away dry - DONE
  9. Collect DD1 from nursery then DD2 to library if not raining
Countingthegreyhairs · 24/09/2007 12:50

Well done to you and all the others Jas.

I signed up with your thread originally but didn't keep up (illness). Have now joined the new baby-steps thread.

Out of interest - now you've done 31 days - has it really made a difference to your lives?

Is it hard to keep up? What are main pitfalls/things to watch out for? What do you do if you or one of the dc are ill?

Thanks for any tips

FunkyGlassSlipper · 24/09/2007 13:14

It does make a difference yes. Things like unloading the dishwasher and putting the washing machine on become 2nd nature so you do them every day and dont fall behind.

Doing babysteps is great but try and stick with the pace. It seems slow but i think it is like that so that the repetition sticks. If you rush through it you are less likely to bennefit.

My DH has noticed and also helps as he likes to keep things tidy if they are already tidy. if that makes sense. If they are mess in the first place then he just adds to the mess.

SlightlyMadSweden · 24/09/2007 13:26

Yes it deffo makes a difference.

The FLYbaby scheme is designed so that you only actually add something new to your routine every 3-4days. If you are ill you soon catch up (I hope).

TheMadHouse · 24/09/2007 13:28

I have found the baby steps a godsend. You do things automatically and cleaning is not as much of a chore.

BigBeeristheBigBeer · 24/09/2007 13:45

Our house it still too cluttered, but generally now I would not feel embarrassed if someone dropped round early in the day unexpectedly.

And when we have visitors there isn't any need to clean frantically before they arrive!

It's nice feeling more in control of things.

Have become a bit obsessed with my to do list though.
