Ants in Kitchen

I have a cellar kitchen. I have ants coming in through cracks in the window frame. Yesterday and the day before there were one or two and I sprinkled cinnamon and ordered bait traps from Amazon. They seemed to go away. Today there are hundreds of the six legged buggers right next to the sink coming in and the cinnamon trick isn't working.

I think there are two ants nests going on, possibly with one being disturbed somewhere and I'm getting the benefit. I'm about to go down and spray everything with harsh cleaner and squish the scurrying bastards, and put the traps on the outside, but any other suggestions welcome as the traps will take time - if they work - and I can't spray stuff right next to the sink.

I should mention that the kitchen is a mess, my son is sick (not covid-19, finally diagnosed with long term chronic illness which is going to be a challenge), I'm on a deadline and my husband is working from home and unable to help. I have a big grocery delivery coming tomorrow from an independent and I'm trying to work out where I can put stuff that isn't going to be insected.

All kind suggestions welcome.

Tiny blob of this on the windowsill in a bottle top or something. Just leave it. There will soon be a little trail of ant queuing to have some. They take it back to the nest and it kills the colony.

Ordered - thank you!

I've put the bait traps outside, now all I need to do is use this and squish the buggers.

Is this what you've got, OP? My mum had terrible trouble with ants in the kitchen but put one of these just inside the kitchen door and one outside (we couldn't see where they were getting in, but were in every cupboard) and within 24 hours they'd all gone. Completely disappeared!

The other thing you can do op is to work out where they are coming in and seal the hole up.
We’ve got a conservatory and have ants most summers, we watch them to work out where they coming on and use a caulking gun to put a bead of sealent in. It solves the problem without resorting to germ warfare.

@HollowTalk - yes, I've put a couple down just outside the windowsill. I've got a couple more but the window is directly over the kitchen sink.

@Wired4sound unfortunately there are a lot of options. The double glazing was badly fitted so there are cracks around the window. Then it is over the sink, with all the drains, and next to the boiler with all the vents and the boiler is over the washing machine with all that pipework. It's an old house, so there are a lot of opportunities. I'm hoping I can get them a little reduced and then prowl around the outside with a filler gun.

Really appreciate the suggestions!
