Did you know this about Zoflora?

I'm sad but I follow Zoflora on Facebook. They recently put a post up stating that Zoflora, once diluted, which is obviously what you do with it, is only effective for 2 weeks. So if you have a spray bottle that lasts a while , it is completely ineffective as a disinfectant if it's older than two weeks. Nowhere does it say this on the box or bottle!

I think it's very misleading and out of order and completely different to Dettol and other disinfectants so you presume Zoflora to be the sane.

So the spray bottle that I've been using to spray door handles and shopping etc to kill coronavirus is complexly useless! It's just nice smelling water!

Did you know this?

No I didn't know this OP.

Bugger. Best empty current made up bottle.

Thanks for sharing.

I had no idea either. Why do they tell you to do it if it doesn't last? Who gets through a whole bottle of cleaning spray in 2 weeks? Do I look like Mrs fucking Hinch?

Babypiggy · 16/05/2020 23:19

Didnt know this either been using merrily too!

I really sure Alice Bier said this about diluted bleach too this week on This Morning. Also that bleach had a shelf life and didn't work after that (about a year if I remember). I was sceptical. I'll sure I've had bleach spray for longer and it still got rid of my horrid mouldy bits on my bathroom ceiling.

lilgreen · 16/05/2020 23:32

I dilute a bit in the sink, soak a cloth it for a few minutes then use that to wipe areas. No need to make up a bottle.

TemoraryUsername · 16/05/2020 23:33

I wonder if Alice would be happy to slather herself in bleach that's 2 years old then? Probably not.

I didn't know that about diluted zoflora though, thanks for the heads up.

Corianderlord most cleaning products so, don't they? It was my understanding that not if sufficiently diluted, which they would be after going through the system.. ? If not can you recommend a better but still effective virus killer please?

calamityjam · 16/05/2020 23:34

For those who don't get through a spray in 2 weeks, try using it in the bathroom as an air freshener. I also use a fine spay and do all my carpets as I have a dog and cat. It kills bacteria they may bring in on paws which cause smelly carpets

lilgreen · 16/05/2020 23:36

Soap kills covid 19. Any cheap soap.

TemoraryUsername · 16/05/2020 23:37

@calamityjam please be careful using it on surfaces pets touch. Their claims to be pet friendly are dubious.

7Days · 16/05/2020 23:39

Would it not go off in the original bottles as well then?

calamityjam · 17/05/2020 00:14

@temporaryusername I dilute it really well and use a fine mist. It dries before the pets go on the rugs and carpets and they've always been fine with it Smile
