Steam mop: why do I NEED one?

I am very tempted to buy one, but I don't want to waste money on another gadget. I keep reading here that it's great and life changing, but I am not sure I understand all the pros.

Would you tell me why you bought one and what you like about it?

When you get one, do you still use your standard mop sometimes or has the steam one completely replaced it?
And is it inconvenient to drag the cord around?
Also, is it noisy?

Thanks!

As long as you're using a fresh cloth every time, it picks up the dirt. I've only ever noticed that it moves it around when I forgot to change it and I think it was the 3rd time using that cloth. Changed it and it was fine. I honestly wouldn't be without it. It's so easy.

Yes I love my vax steam mop. I use it daily and would never fo back to a normal mop now. Heats up in seconds and so quick and easy to use, also like how quickly the floor drys instead of staying wet for ages with my old mop.

I have a steam cleaner with all attachments that can be converted to a mop. It's too much of a faff to use regularly for the floor. I tend to drag it out when the kitchen/bathroom needs a deep clean and whilst I'm at it will steam mattresses, rugs, sofa (everything really), but for everyday I prefer vileda mop and spray mop for quick touch ups.

Mine sat in the cupboard taking up space. I didn't feel it cleaned half as well as a mop and bucket. Was a faff to set up too.

I use mine several times a week to mop the floors downstairs (all hard floors). I also use it to give the mattresses a once over and deep clean the bathrooms.

I prefer to blast germs with steam than chemicals.

If you want a nice smell you can always add vaporesse or similar as that is designed for ironing chambers so won't clog it up like zoflora would
