How the f do you clean your kitchen cupboards outside?

2 weeks of no cleaner and all of us home 24/7!!
Kitchen cabinet doors have all become dirty. Tried spraying water and wiping with a kitchen towel but it’s not 100%. What’s the best way to clean them ?

Depends what they are made of. I just use kitchen spray and a cloth/sponge then buff dry with a kitchen towel

Fuzzywuzzyface · 28/03/2020 19:57

Have you tried hot water with a bit of fairy liquid and a dish cloth? It sounds like they are only surface dirty...

YangShanPo · 28/03/2020 19:57

Scrubby thing with some neat washing up liquid or some cif type cleaning cream.

Heismyopendoor · 28/03/2020 19:58

You could use a damp scourer, like the kind you use to wash dishes. That will have an abrasive side, maybe even a little soapy water too.

I use a homemade vinegar spray with a soft sponge most days and it cuts through a lot. The key for me is every time I do the dishes I wipe down two or three cupboard doors. Then it helps that nothing really builds up as such.

Just water won't be much use. Use a normal kitchen spray or some washing up liquid in a bowl of hot water.

The dog licks any spillages off of ours Blush then wipe down with antibac and a cloth

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 29/03/2020 10:48

If greasy then try neat washing up liquid. If you happen to have any 'sticky stuff remover' I've found that helps with stubborn fatty residue

foamrolling · 29/03/2020 10:51

You just need soap and hot water. And a proper cloth. Water and a kitchen towel wouldn't clean anything!

ChasingSquirrels
She is the unofficial cleaner of the house she also is great and being the hoover and dishwasher.
Ironically she also likes chasing squirrels

Chasingsquirrels · 29/03/2020 11:51

Mine would be dishwasher if he could, although thankfully he completely ignores it when it's been on and we are emptying it.
Unfortunately he creates more mess 're vacuuming (dog hair, bits from outside etc) than he solves in eating dropped bits of food.
My username is related to my previous dog 🙂 and the squirel population behind our house.

They are glossy ones, so I’m not sure about using spray on them. Tried warm water today. They look a lot better. Thankyou :)
When I have nothing to do (likely tomorrow), I’ll try scrubbing with diluted fairy

Gloss surfaces, use a wet cloth with a teeny bit fairy liquid. Wash them all down with lots of elbow grease.

Dry with a dry microfibre cloth and buff to a shine

MontysOarlock · 30/03/2020 16:44

Washing up liquid will cut through the general grease and dirt, be careful not to use anything abrasive like the green or white scrubby bit on a kitchen sponge.

So a a bit more than damp cloth, I use neat washing up liquid and then wipe down, I dry off with another cloth and you can buff them. My kitchen has gloss units and is coming up for 7 years old. Looks like new because I wipe down the units once a week.

TheOrigBrave · 30/03/2020 19:07

What on earth are you doing to them?!
I don't have a cleaner and apart from wiping off obvious drips I rarely clean the outside of the cupboards. Maybe a wipe around the handle now and again.

Liskee · 30/03/2020 19:10

Washing powder in warm water on a soft sponge sorts our cream cupboards out when they get drips and stains

icanbreathagain · 31/03/2020 06:40

I've used glass cleaner on my glossy doors!

Lamby225 · 31/03/2020 22:42

Microfibre cloths don’t leave streaky marks . Warm water with a little washing up liquid/flash . Dry on its own or use a dry microfibre cloth. Job done !

Window cleaner with a microfibre cloth

ps1991 · 05/04/2020 18:44

I run a bowl of hot water with fairy liquid. Take the dishcloth (microfibre) spray the cupboard doors with antibac and wipe down. I do a few each night and keep on top of it
