Dim just looking for tips and ideas on how to save space in a bed room. I have 3 of my oldest girls sharing (this is a recent change and only just had to put them together in same room) and they all have single beds. I didn't want to go and buy bunk beds that I can't afford and they like their single beds and I can't justify buying new ones when theirs are still decent. Anyway I'm finding it hard to fit al their wardrobes in now as they did originally have one each ( the small ones ones) so I news tips on how to find a solution for their clothes, underwear, pjs and Bedding ect by not taking up too much space and so I can get rid of the 3 separate wardrobes. Anyone have any ideas that won't cost me the earth ?

I have two teenage children in one room, and two under 10 in another room. The teenagers have the biggest bedroom, due to the need for desks. They have a large pax wardrobe, with internal drawers, bunk bed, and drawers under the bunk. They have shelves in the walls near their bunks, the desks have drawers for storage of text books etc. This seems to work quite well for them
The under 10s have the smaller room. They have bunk beds, drawers under neath, shelves in the walls near bunks, a desk, and a small pax.

  • hanging rails in alcoves
  • shelves in alcoves
  • hide with curtains
  • or make a frame and hang doors
  • if no alcoves, make frames in corners
  • Kallax type units with baskets, drawers and doors
  • drawers or boxes under beds
  • if room on landing, build a cupboard

Under the bed storage boxes for PJ's, underwear, sports clothes. One large wardrobe with a section for each child.

I did have 3 sharing (1 boy 2 girls, ages 6.5 and under) but their sleeping habits vary drastically so gave my son his own room. £25 high rise cabin bed for him off Facebook marketplace, the others will also upgrade to 2nd hand metal framed beds when they're a bit bigger.

Should say that there is so much space under the high rise - cupboard, desk and drawers to the side. I could technically so the same for the other two as well and still have floor space in the middle of the room.

I used to have three aged 3, 6 and 8 sharing. They were in narrow shorty bunks from Argos and a small adjustable bed from ikea. We had a solid wall full of ikea wardrobes and drawers, some under bunk drawers and a bookcase.

It was fine.
