Dust

Does anyone have any tips for reducing dust before I spend £££ on an air purifier? We just seem to have so much and I don't understand why! Does keeping windows open for more of the day reduce it? I can see frequent hoovering obviously reduces floor dust but does that reduce surface dust too? (I already hoover downstairs quite a lot).

I have this problem too- have always had the feeling my home gets dustier than other people's! Quite recently bought an air purifier/dehumidifier (actually bought it for the dehumidifier but air purifier was a bonus). I honestly couldn't tell you If it makes much of a difference to the dust, but i guess psychologically it helps!

I do think some houses get dustier than others. If you have wood/laminate/tiled floors it will definitely be dustier than if you have carpets. I swear by these; so quick and convenient. I go over the downstairs surfaces, telly etc every day... takes 10 minutes max.

I don't change it every day; probably once a week or so.

Thanks for the replies. Interesting about the air purifier!

Do you have a pet, I find people with pets have more dust, also drying clothes indoors seems to create dust?
