Fruit flies

Fruit flies appeared in my kitchen about ten days ago and I can't seem to shift them. Confused seem to congregate by kitchen sink and compost bin on the worktop. There's no rotting or even soft fruit or veg out (only onions and fresh apples I've bought since the infestation). I've bleached the drain, compost bin and kitchen scrub brushes. Have also set out vinegar traps that have killed some. Infestation continues but can't for the life of me find the source. Any suggestions?

Check behind the kickboards under the kitchen units. That's where I found the manky-arse banana skin that was attracting the hordes in my kitchen last spring. Fuck knows how it got there, but that was the answer..!

My parents had fruit flies in the house. Couldn't figure out how as their fruit etc wasn't off. Turned out they were living out on an indoor plant they had bought. They tried to use natural remedies to get rid of them but in the end had to buy a proper fly spray to get rid of them

From what I've read I need to find the source. Will try under the kick boards!

A lot of the time the source can be the fruit you bring in and they hatch then find somewhere to live

The little drain in our coffee maker was the source of our fruit flies.
