Just that really. Have baby and toddler clothes to wash and hubbies thick work clothes. What do you think about them?

I wouldn't use them for food stained bibs and clothes, tbh. We use them for all our household washing, but we are adults and don't spill tomato soup all down ourselves! No one has a mucky job, either.

I tried these years ago and found them no better than washing in plain water

If i had grubby tots, I'd probably rub marks with a bar of fairy first.

It's disconcerting because clothes don't smell of soap, so don't smell 'clean'. They don't smell dirty either though. They just don't smell. Now I find other people's laundry overpoweringly floral!

I use one and I'm really getting on with it, I read some reviews before buying some of which had said that it's not great on whites, so I don't use it on a white wash but otherwise it's perfect for us as a young family

I have one , good for black TShirts and shirts , the colour stays true .

There was a Stain Remover stick in one of mine years ago which was excellent .

I have the cotton fresh one.

My Top Tip - put it in a mesh bag , if they open you will spend forever picking the little pellets out of your washing Hmm

My dog chewed up the ball, so all the bits are kept in a knotted sock.

StillWeRise · 14/01/2020 19:04

those who are using one, i challenge you to do 2 comparable washes, one with the egg and one using the same programme but just water
that's what I did, hence my conclusion Grin

What I'd say, Rise, is that over about five years of use, my clothes do not smell or have stains. They are also soft, as if I'd used softener- my towels used to be rough if I ran out of softener.

I think if I was only us8ng water then over time the inefficiency would show up.

Which mag also reckons they are no different to just water. Modern machines are really good, and so is water.
