Mattress protector

I’ve just spent a lot of money on a new mattress and I want to buy a mattress protector. The old mattress is about to go to the bin and I have to admit I am embarrassed by quite how stained it is. I’ve bought mattress protectors over the years and they never fit properly and I find they make feel hot and sweaty.

The white company used to do a pure cotton one, our mattress has always had a protector but it’s still got stained 🤷🏻‍♀️

Have a look at Soak and Sleep, that was recommended by the mattress company we bought from.

We have the topper microfibre with 10% silk. It's warm but not as hot as the synthetic one we had from M&S.

Get one with natural/cotton padding, even some with cotton tops will have polyester filling and it makes you sweaty.

wilkinson or argos - look for ones that don't mention 'crackly' in the reviews, or in wilkinson have a feel. Poundstretcher are also good if you've got one nearby.

need to be washed quite often, as of course does the undersheet above it.

I bought one in John Lewis clearance, very nice

This is the best one by far that I have tried

I like the Marks and Spencer ones, you have to go into store sometimes (rather than buy online) which are waterproof but have a cotton top.

I haven't had good luck with the cotton John Lewis ones, they are tight to start with and then they shrink in the wash, no matter how careful you are. I've had several and washed on 30, not spun/drip dried etc.

The Ikea gokart one isn't crackly. Takes bloody ages to dry so must be very absorbent.
