I didn't really like any of the ones in dunelm today, they all felt a bit old fashioned style wise. And they were not cheap. We need 4 sheets, 4 bathtowels and 2 handtowels

Ikea is an option, but there seem to be plenty on amazon too. Any recommendations?

I always go to the white co - big soft and fluffy!

itsboiledeggsagain · 07/01/2020 17:20

I'm worried I cant keep white white.

Also I am not sure i like fluffy. I like ones that are a bit crispy :) DH doesnt agree with me however, I dont think

I need some nice new towels too. The ones I've bought in recent years all have the same problem, the threads seem to bunch up at the ends and never look very good on the towel rails it really annoys me. This is a problem whether I buy expensive or cheaply, am I going wrong somewhere with washing them. I even started washing at lower temperatures but didn't seem to help with the problem. So any tips much appreciated.

I hate the idea of new towels for exactly this reason. Do you tumble dry?

George online at ASDA do the best towels, soft and thick, good choice and excellent value for money

Totaldogsbody · 09/01/2020 02:42

Doesn't seem to matter if I tumble or line dry the same thing happens although I do wonder if tumble drying is making the problem worse.

Intrigued by the concept of “old-fashioned” towels Grin

Matalan & Asda both ok - also Aldi, who have them in atm (but only 3 colours). Dunelm’s Egyptian cotton come in dozens of colours & are fine IME (though I notice recent reviews complain about excessive fluff coming off).

For nice crunchy towels, wash on their own, don’t use fabric rinse, & air dry. If that makes them too crunchy, 5-10 mins in the dryer takes the edge off Smile

I bought Next online over 3 years ago and they've worn really well.

I always use Justlinen and buy reduced branded towels - Christy or Sheridan

i bought a few bath towels from ebay. nice and big, bright colours mind you but the colour hasnt faded one bit even on a hot wash or when mixing with other washing

DH likes a towel so crisp it could sandblast you. I don't like them fluffy , they don't dry well, but they must be soft.

Mine are a mix of Costco (white bath towels and handtowels ) I'm looking for bathsheets now

Ikea are good , a lot are textured which makes them more absorbant IMO .

If possible , I dry white towels outside , helps keep them bright

If you like them crisp, then Ikea are still the best. Lots of colours and good texture. And cheap!

RedRiverShore · 29/01/2020 20:48

I usually get Next ones as the XL bath sheets are nice and big and they wash well and don’t shed too much
