One off Deep Clean Cleaner

I need a bit of help sorting out home.
I generally do bits of cleaning everyday to keep on top of things however, I think I would like to get a lady to do a one off “deep clean”. I would like to also have oven cleaned.
I have been quoted £300 which I think is a little bit much or maybe not as I have never used this type of services. Any advice/ recommendations would be appreciated.
It’s a two bed semi, with 2 bathroom and small living room/kitchen.
I was thinking 6 hours work with a little bit bed linen ironing and oven clean. As it is a deep clean, I ‘d pay £16ph plus £40 oven clean.
Should I maybe put up an advert on gumtree and see what I can get?
Please help

I guess it depends what you actually mean by deep clean. For the £300 I would be expecting everything to be spotless, cupboards wiped out etc which just wouldn't be doable in 6 hours. Considering it's a one off I think I would be tempted to use a company that specifically advertise as doing deep cleans rather than advertising on gumtree - I had a deep clean done before we moved into our new house and it was so worth it!

You could get all sorts of strangers from gumtree. They could steal from you or attack you. I’m not sure that’s the way to go. Better to go by word of mouth. Do any of your mates have a good cleaner?

UnionistMum · 07/01/2020 18:41

Fair point!
Have done that already.
One colleague has a cleaner and I have already asked but unfortunately, she has no availability.
Pity, as my colleague says she’s 5 🌟

300 quid no way xx

I got my oven done before Christmas and paid £50 it came up like new. £300 is a lot but they may have the Karcher cleaner and bring the shower doors back to new or the carpet cleaner - I've priced those services individually. Check what exactly you are getting for £300. Booking through an agency means that they are more reliable and will be insured. As a once off I would be tempted if I was getting a lot done.

I'm a cleaner and manage to get shower doors back to new without a steamer Confused.

I've not done it but I've looked into it and was quoted a similar price. A deep clean would take 1 person more than one day, so in order to greet it done in a timely manner it's likely they have 2 or 3 people coming. It involves moving furniture and is physically taxing. My quite included the oven and some carpets but not the cupboards . I chose what I wanted done within a price I thought I could pay, but in the end thought I couldn't really justify the expense. If you find an individual who doesn't do this professionally, well you may be happy with the results but it's likely to not be to a high standard as once person would struggleto do all of that in a day.

Three years ago, before our daughter moved into her similar sized house we had it deep cleaned (it was empty though). It cost £180.

What is a deep clean?

Northernsoullover · 08/01/2020 14:57

I can deep clean a 3 bed property in around 6 hours. On my own. Its experience and knowledge that enables me to do that. I charge a lot for it but not 300 quid.
