burnt jam pan....

... making raspberry jam and got a little carried away at the boiling point and now have a very burnt bottom! (so to say!)

please restore my lovely pan to new mumsnetters!!!!!!???

I have had this problem too, I don't think my sugar was properly dissovled when I boiled!

I will be watching closely for answers...

I would put very warm water in and some dishwasher detergent, swish it round abit and leave for a few hours. Or try something like soda crystals, if no dishwasher stuff.

I read somewhere that a tablet of biological washing powder in some water and left overnight is a good way to lift off burnt stuff. Not sure if it is specific to jam however.

thanks all... i've heard the washing powder tablet one before and have tried that.. although it is a nin biological one... damn those children and their sensitive skins!!!!

it's coming off though...

if it doesn't work i'll be out ater getting biological!!!
