Will never forget coming home from school one day to find my mum completely out of breath, rubbing a whole loaf of bread all over the sofa; apparently it was "the best way to get dust out of the ridges – like an exfoliator"

Peanut butter to get chewing gum off my work trousers. And it worked

How do you get a dishwasher tablet to clean the oven door please?

2p coin to remove limescale from taps, Loos etc. Works a treat

Vodka in the washing machine (specifically for sportswear and technical fabrics). Gets rid of that weird plasticky smell some of those 'fabrics' have. It goes in the fabric conditioner compartment (instead of fabric conditioner, obviously).

Go with the cheap stuff, obviously. No need to be putting Grey Goose in the washing machine.
