I know this has been done 1,000 times before but can someone recommend a good, reliable vacuum cleaner?

Please
don't mind what brand, cylinder or upright, I just want a good vacuum that will last longer than a few months.
TIA

Ah, that's my problem then, Aitch - mine isn't old enough! I've had it about 6 years and I think it was a newish design; I got the impression from the engineer that he was used to dealing with ones like mine

I'd still never ever buy another. For £200+ I could get 2 Mieles

Nightynight · 25/08/2007 20:41

ahem
my dyson is yellow and purple and it has never broken down.

yours is evidently a friday one wendy!

ScottishMummy · 25/08/2007 20:43

dyson superlative quality

MadLabOwner · 25/08/2007 20:45

Dyson - best thing in the world for hairy cats and dogs and no bags to buy!

WendyWeber · 25/08/2007 20:54

Yeah but mine is red and purple, Nn - also has spangly bits in the purple (it's a deep purple.)

(It's called DC07 brush control hepa floor tool and it would have been c £280, but I got it from a catalogue with 20% off initial order and then 10% commission. That's still £201.60 )

Nightynight · 25/08/2007 21:02

mine is the dc05. It has spangly bits as well.

WendyWeber · 25/08/2007 21:05

I think mine is just too clever by half

littlemissbossy · 25/08/2007 21:07

PMSL, it's Saturday night and you two are arguing over a dyson

WendyWeber · 25/08/2007 21:42
