No matter what I do, I can get rid of mould on the silicone in the shower cubicle and ceiling above the shower. Can anybody advise please?

I use neat bleach. Has to be domestos as the cheaper brands don't work. I use a toothbrush to brush it on and leave it over night. On the ceiling I wipe over the mould again with neat bleach. Sometimes takes a few attempts but works

HG mould spray

It will keep coming back if you dont deal with the source of the problem. Do you have an extractor fan? Do you keep the bathroom ventilated?

Thank you for your replies. We don’t have an extractor fan but always leave the window open after showers.

I'm attempting this today using information from a YouTube vid. You roll or fold toilet roll into long thin strips, pour bleach onto the mould and then put the strips of toilet paper over the bleach. Leave for a few hours (they say 12) and then remove the strips and rinse. It's supposed to work really well. I don't have time to leave on for 12 hours so hopefully it will work in less time. Will report back with the results :)

Thank you Julianne65. Good luck. Let me know how you get on.

Strong kitchen roll doused in bleach. Cover the mouldy silicone in the bleach kitchen roll and leave over night to soak and the mould should come right off

Just had a little sneaky peak and so far so good! One section is completely white. I don't think I was liberal enough with the bleach though. Will leave it a bit longer and see what happens. Might have to repeat it but I think this will work. Having to open the windows though and the cat loves the smell so trying to get her away from the bathroom is a pain.

Cillit Bang Mould Remover. I got it from Wilko for around £1.50, it works really well. I use those cheap white dish cloths and you have to wear gloves. It gets it off easily and it doesn't come back for ages. I have asthma so bleach would just floor me.

The overnight bleach works really well but eats away at the sealant, so bear that in mind.
