How to keep on top of food and household shopping?

Hi.
This drives me mad. Each week I do an online shop, got delivered last Thursday, been to the local shop everyday since for washing up liquid, cat food, bread milk etc. I just can’t seem to keep on top with it. I much prefer an online shop as limited time but would also like to use Lidl.
Does anyone have any suggestions please?

Go through your regular items for the things you need regularly or have a set regular shopping list. As you notice things are going down eg washing up liquid put one in your shopping basket. Every week I double check to see if we need dishwasher or laundry tablets. Keep and extra loaf in the freezer and some uht milk in the cupboard.

Would a paper list on the fridge work better for you? Then it's easier for whoever uses something up (and gets out the spare) to add it to the list, rather than it falling on you.
I also tend to use the "instant shop" feature on the online shopping as a checklist of things we might have run out of...

I have a 'master list' that lists pretty much everything i might buy from a supermarket. Before a big shop, i print it off and go through the cupboards noting down if/how many of each item i need. I live rurally, a long way from a supermarket, so generally buy in bulk. I also note down (list on the fridge) anything I've run out of in between the big shop and go to a small, local shop once a week for bread, milk, fresh veg.

I use Amazon subscribe and save for regular purchases eg cat food, toilet roll, tissues, washing powder etc. You can choose thendelivery frequency and as i have 5 items delivered per month, each has a 15% discount. It works for us on bulky non grocery items

I did wonder if amazon would work for me as I like certain brands for certain things and then did Lidl for the rest

I do things very differently. I have a back up of nearly everything.
I have a washing up liquid, a clothes washing liquid, toothpaste, deodorant, toilet roll, under the sink.

On the kitchen, tones of rice, pasta, tins of tomatoes, 2 packets of spaghetti, kidney beans, coconut milk, etc in the cupboard.

So when the washing up liquid finishes, I take the washing liquid out of the cupboard I immediately put it on the list.

When I do a Sainsbury's online shop I get back ups for the above. Plus bread and milk, salad and avacado. Plus 3 or 4 evening meals.

Plus I batch cook, so I had cod and chips, sausages and mash, curry, chilli and spag Bol mince, and meatballs, ready for spaghetti and meatballs, cooked and bagged maybe 3 times in the freezer. So I can come home and make a choice of probably 4 meals within minutes.

Could that help you?
