Drying bedding indoors

I don't have a tumble dryer and after reading all the stories about them catching fire, don't particularly want one. Use my rads all the time for drying smalls, have a couple of large collapsible airers upstairs in spare room (we have absolutely no damp in the house and the room I have the airers in is warm and dry and well ventilated) for air drying clothes we're not in a hurry for, but I can't dry sheets and duvet covers on these as they are not big enough (king and super-king sized bedding). Using the local laundry even just for bedding is proving costly so how do those of you also without tumble dryers manage to dry your bedding when weather is bad or just during winter months generally?

Heated airer from Lakeland

We have an Ebac dehumidifier, not a cheap option but it works well and has a laundry setting so it will work harder (but noisier) for up to 8 hours. If there are any slightly damp corners after that for the biggest sheets, they go into the airing cupboard or hang on a door for awhile. I've got a ceiling hoist rack that I need to hang above the bath so that we can hang even more but haven't got around to installing it yet.

I have a Sheila maid airer in the kitchen, stuff dries overnight on there.

We used to have one of those Sheila maid airers in our old family home - how I wish my ceilings were high enough to get one (or more) now! So had a powwow and though I appreciate this wouldn't suit everybody, decided to get one as it will live in the room I currently use for drying clothes and be in regular use so I won't need to put it up/take it down

I shall return and report at some point in near future if anyone's interested in hearing how it works (or doesn't!) for us Grin

Thanks to all who responded!
