Using soda crystals

I have the crystals, not the liquid.
can I just dilute in water and away I go? Use it as a general purpose cleaner for floors, doors etc?

I've discovered about 3 or 4 bags of it stashed away in the garage and there's no way I'm going to let it go to waste.
I fancy a good clean before Christmas and this find has spurred me on.

TIA

a solution is the only thing that cleans the pale grey grout on the tiles on my kitchen floor. No other product or bleach has touched it.

I pop a scoop in the washing drawer to help with limes scale

It's also good for grease - I clean the cooker hood, tops of kitchen cupboards etc with a hot, strong solution.

thank you for the extra replies. I've used it this afternoon to clean the floors.

I mix a scoop of the crystals with some washing up liquid and use on a sponge to clean the stainless steel sink. With hot water gets it sparkling (and cleans grease from the drains as it rinses away). Also add a teaspoon to washing powder to get clothes really clean (and can use less washing powder).

I use it down my sinks. Pour some distilled vinegar in, let it bubble up then pour boiling hot water. Makes it smell fresh! Also use it to clean grout.

thank you for the extra posts. I'll be through my four bags in no time Grin

Yes, it gets addictive! Filthy oven? Soda crystals! Greasy floor? Soda crystals! Stained washing? Soda crystals! Broken leg? Soda... No, wait, that's wrong. Don't ingest them!

Besidesthepoint · 27/11/2019 07:21

Stained washing? Soda crystals!

Wait, what? What kind of stains does this work on? I only ever use it to clean sinks and pots.

Ann2Otto · 27/11/2019 11:15

My partner is a mechanic so when I wash his work clothes I always add washing soda to the wash. It gets rid of most of the oil.

IWillWearTheGreenWillow · 27/11/2019 13:47

It clears grease and some food stains. Nothing works on banana or apple juice, ever, mind!

I have done another post about this but as you guys use soda crystals regularly, perhaps you know the answer.

The kitchen floor looks dirtier than when I started yesterday! Ive today cleaned it by hand, down on hands and knees and the cloths are still coming up black.

The tiles are light grey with black grouting.

Have the soda crystals damaged the grouting and made it come up?

What the hell do I do now?

TIA
