condenser tumble dryers

Anyone got one? Are they a complete pain in terms of having to be emptied every five minutes or are they every bit as good as a standard dryer? Cant have the latter because nowhere to vent it to.

I have a Bosch one
it needs to be emptied every 4 or 5 dries I guess
It is in a big cupboard in bathroom so easy as is right next to bath.
Seems as good as my last vented drier

i had one in my old house (as nowhere to vent) i kept forgetting to empty the thing and was flummoxed when it stopped working i wouldnt mind either tbh both as good.

How do you empty them, is it just a fairly easily accessible pullout drawer?

I have a Zanussi and it's better than my old vented one. Remember to de-fluff it too though otherwise it's much less efficient. If you empty the water every time instead of waiting for it to be full then it will last longer too. I pour the water onto the flowerbeds too (no wastage here!)

Wisteria · 20/08/2007 16:32

too overload

dizzydo · 20/08/2007 16:38

Thats a great help everyone, thank you so much.

I have AEG (previously had white knight cheap as chips) they both have "drain kits" which means depending where you have it you can drain the water in a drain. Mine is next to my washing machine and drains into the same pipe as the washing machine.

Mine is a sensor drier and fab, so I can just say how dry I want it and then it tells me when it is dry.

If I didn't have the drain kit it would need to be emptied every 2 cycles. I don't have a sink nearby as mine is in a utility room so it is quite a trek down the kitchen to empty it. PITA.

I have a miele one and it's fab. Only thing is it beeps for ages when it's finished which can be very annoying. I empty mine after every load, but could get away with every third load I reckon.

Shoobiedoo · 21/08/2007 19:53

I have a Miele one and it is ace. I have it plumbed in to drain the water out so though it is a condenser I have never emptied it and it is great.
