Have seen the pink stuff that claims to remove all dirt in poundstretchers.
Does it work?
What on?
Could i clean grubby walls with it?
Hmm

It's amazing stuff. I'm sure it would! Although start somewhere inconspicuous as not all paint can be washed down!

Pascha · 12/11/2019 09:23

If its cheap and does what it says on the bottle it will probably be so abrasive it strips paint. I would be cautious.

ilovetofu · 12/11/2019 09:26

So what have you used it for?

I use it to clean my hob. It's really good. It is mildly abrasive yes, but not so it would damage glass. I'm not sure I'd use it for walls. Ovens, hobs, dirty pans, that sort of thing.

cookiemonster5 · 12/11/2019 09:30

I used it to clean the white pvc window surrounds and grubby bath in my new house. I've used it on my cooker too.

It's an abrasive paste. So I wouldn't use it in walls unless you want the paint/wallpaper stripped off too. Also a no go for delicate surfaces that scratch easily.

Lindy2 · 12/11/2019 09:30

I think it would strip paint.

It is good stuff though and cleans baked on marks on pots and pans brilliantly but I think it would scratch delicate surfaces.

TheJoxter · 12/11/2019 09:32

My mum swears by it but I get the same results by using a paste made of just bicarb and water

TheJoxter · 12/11/2019 09:32

Not sure about paint though!

OnionsOnionsOnions · 12/11/2019 09:33

Yes it works wonders. I use Astonish cookware and oven cleaner though as my electric cooker gets super grubby. It literally is the same thing! It's an abrasive.

Lindy2 · 12/11/2019 09:35

One of those magic eraser sponges might be better for painted walls. They're quite soft.

ilovetofu · 12/11/2019 09:38

Thanks all Smile

Omg it's amazing the kids got biro pen all over my gloss white coffee table. It got it straight off. Also use it on my cooker and anything tough to clean with usual cleaning sprays.

The stuff to clean grubby walls in Sugar Soap.
It is cheaper to buy as powder. You need to start at the bottom and work up the wall.

If it i just the odd mark, I would use a magic eraser.

If it is a largish area of minor grubbyness, I'd use a weak solution of washing up liquid on a soft rag.
