Keeping bedroom warm

Hi everyone! First time posting on here so apologies if I do something wrong.

I have just bought a town house, my bedroom is on the third floor and the stairs are in my bedroom with a tiny little part of the landing and then a door. I have a 10 week old baby and I'm finding it really hard to heat the bedroom. We put the heating on but it never seems to stay warm. Does anyone have any tips how to keep the room warm? I'm just getting worried that with winter coming my baby will get really cold. Thanks

An oil filled heater could maybe help

Thankyou are they fairly cheap to buy, a quick look on google shows there are a few places to buy them.

Have you got a groegg? I'm always surprised at how cold it feels at the recommended temperature. Does the heat not rise? I would have expected the top room to be the warmest. Otherwise thick curtains, keeping doors shut and putting the heating on for a couple of hours at the beginning of the night should help.

I would look at what loft insulation you have and maybe add more, heat rises so the third floor room should be the warmest.

I would also bleed the radiator to make sure it's getting completely hot and then add thick curtains etc.

I was thinking maybe the insulation’s insufficient too, or the previous owners have boarded the loft but not used solid insulation instead of fibre glass.
