Pillow recommendations and smell prevention

IsItBiggerThanTheBoxItsIn · 24/10/2019 20:37

My DH sweats alot at night and despite pillow protectors his pillow is damp and smells after two or three nights. He's not a smelly person generally but it makes our bedroom smell bad too. We open the windows every day and wash bedding etc regularly. Any tips on how to keep everything as fresh as possible or recommendations for pillows and pillow protectors that may help? Dipping DH in anti perspirant head first every night seems a tad unethical but has been considered.

Not sweating but my DH use to drool a lot in his sleep Envy< not .
So ( this sounds odd bear with me ) , I bought some puppy training pads , they are very thin and about 2 foot square, unscented.

I wrapped his pillow in one then put them in the pillowcase and changed it when every I changed the bedding.

The same idea may work for you.

The packing looks different than the on I bought ( I think mine were green / silver and def did not have a carry handle ) , but it was a few years ago so it may just of been redesigned .

That is a lot of sweating. Has it always been so?
I'd honestly mention sweating that much to a doctor.

You need to get some waterproof pillows..... they've come a long way since the hospital type ones that rustle when you move and make you sweat even more. I used to work in a care home and we had wipeable pillows that had a soft case. You can also get disposable pillow protectors that you change daily.

Thank you for the tips! The sweating is a medical thing but I dont tend to think much of that angle. He has an auto immune disease and night sweats is part of it.

I think I’d be tempted to buy 8 waterproof pillow protectors & change daily.

Does he use driclor or odaban?.
