Bleaching clothes white help needed please

Looking for recommendations for bleach to get white school shirts and white bedding bright white again. I do try to be eco friendly where possible, but I'm at the point where I'll throw anything at it. Tired of replacing DS1s school shirts when he stains them after one wear and my husband's pillowcase is bloody disgusting now that it's so warm at night.

Thank you x

Seems like bleach damages fabric, so we use oxygen cleansers (like Napisan). And sunshine.

I've had the shirts out in the sunshine. It helps a bit, but not enough. Will look at Napisan. Thanks.

Following this one. DS has nosebleeds and I have an awful time getting the stains from pillowcases. Get about 90% of the way there but there's always that telltale yellowish mark and I've often wondered how other people manage to deal with this

We use an Oxy powder from Tesco and dry in the sunshine (sometimes takes 2 washes) it gets all sorts out of DSs clothes... fruit, blood, mud and accident stains!

takeasadsongandmakeitbetter · 21/07/2019 13:47

forgot to say I use double the recommended amount

Tesco version of Vanish, then dry in the sunshine for hours. Even after they're dry, leave them out.

Presoak for upto 6 hours if needed.

I've just managed to get hair dye and Estée Lauder foundation out of a pillow case and bralette using this method.

To keep white white all year, it's a scoop of the above, prewash and then normal wash with my EcoEgg.

Dishwasher tablet or Milton sterilising tablet in machine or ace for whites

Kelsoooo · 21/07/2019 13:50

And if you're washing machine isn't clean that'll not help.

Am I the last to the party? I'd never heard of an EcoEgg until now Confused Just googled it Shock

Napisan.
If they are really dull or stained then soak in napisan or soda crystals first.

CynthiaRothrock · 21/07/2019 15:03

Nappy san or baby bottle sterilizing tablets like milton

I use neat Domestos on stains on white cotton - just rub it in and then wash as normal. I've never tried it on anything but 100% cotton, though.

I smear detergent and vanish powder directly on stains and for chocolate or blood do a cold wash first. A teeny bit of fairy liquid will shift grease stains.
I’ve tried bleach but I think it left traces in my washing machine because I got streaks on the coloured wash that followed so I’m not doing that again.

Daz. Soak them in Daz for a few hours then hot wash. Don't mix with other colours. Don't use bleach, it rots fabric.

Someone once gave me a load of cast off school shirts which were a bit grimy. Soaked them in Daz,as above and they came up sparkling. Then she asked for them back! I was not happy!!
