I’m not sure where to Post this. Confused
What’s a reasonable pay for a cleaner per hour ?
I’m starting out new. Not sure what to charge.

Depends where you are and whether you use your own products or not.

Have look on Facebook selling pages and gumtree local to you for other cleaners adverts and see what they’re offering and charging. Don’t set your rate at the lower end.

We pay ours £13 an hour and we are in London.

Happyspud · 14/07/2019 22:13

£10-12 is pretty normal most places.

I’m in SW London. I will be using their products but said I can top up but bill them later on for anything I have bought.

We pay ours £13.50 pH and she brings her own cleaning products and vacuum cleaner. She was initially £15 but struggled to find work so dropped to £13.50. SW England.

I am in London too and pay £12 per hour. I buy all the cleaning products.

Blankscreen · 14/07/2019 22:42

I think it would be better for you to use your own products and charge slighter more. For example on a 3 hour clean you are not going to use £3 worth of cleaning products. You can also get the stuff you like and know it works etc.

£12 is about average here in Surrey

stucknoue · 14/07/2019 23:10

£12-15 if you are providing products and vacuum cleaner

Keepthebloodynoisedown · 14/07/2019 23:15

SE, £13 an hour, £3 of that is an agency fee (covers insurance etc.) £10 to our cleaner, I buy the cleaning products.

All really helpful thank you.

Midlands. Mine charges £10 ph and brings her own products / cloths etc. She is very welcome to use mine but prefers it that way. Find it quicker than faffing around with different things for different people. She is excellent, and also speedy and I don't mind if she finishes in less than the 2 hours - I know I couldn't do half of what she does in the time.

BoronationStreet · 14/07/2019 23:47

Mine charges £10 per hour for maintenance but £12.50 per hour for deeper cleans.

Honestly it's less about the price and more about how you present yourself. I had a woman offer to clean my house for £8/hr but her fb pic was her kissing a cat and wearing a creepy lace dress so there was no way I would have hired her.

You have to appeal to people and they'll pay you whatever you ask for. My cleaner tells me each week what to pay her and I don't mind at all because she's ace.
