Hi. recently bought a new Bosch dishwasher and use the quick cycle (29 mins) but I've noticed it changes the time half way through and goes back to 28 minutes! Why? is it because we're using tesco own tablets rather than posh finish type ones?Confused

I'm interested to know this too, when we got our dishwasher 5 years ago now, the quick wash took 32 mins and over the first few washes it increased bit by bit up to 40 mins and has stayed that way ever since! No idea why Confused

This sounds like a fault, sorry. I would call Bosch, they should send an engineer under warranty.

The weight of the items in the dishwasher affect how long the wash is.Ours is a Bosch and it does this.

thanks for messages. looking at Manuel it seems it doesn't like the combined tablets Confused and also quick wash should only be for very lightly soiled. that means the standard wash for every day stuff should be 3 1/12 hours.

Hi, Hercules, We tend to use different ones but Aldis seem good We use the quick wash all the time. There's no way I would put it on for 3 hours.

Hercules12 · 07/06/2019 21:45

thanks ozymandiusking. update - tried empty and no tablet yesterday and still took changed time part way through. phoned Bosch today and they're sending an engineer Monday.

Bosch are usually fans of using "turbidity sensors" (my clothes washing machine has it - my dw isn't Bosch).

It "assesses" the clarity of the water (from either dirt or suds) and adjust the water volume/cycle time to ensure as much as it can that it will be clean rinsed. So if using an all in 1 (too many suds) or heavy soiled crockery (too much dirt) the cycle time will need to increase to allow cleaning and rinsing.

Other things that can affect cycle time; incoming water pressure for example if slower, will take longer to fill for each phase of cycle, check tap fully open. Also incoming water temp (fluctuates) so the time to reach the reset temp on the cycle.
