Heavy Duvets

Over this winter I've realised that despite the fact that my feather and down duvets are insulating and stop you from sweating and all the nice things they do, I actually sleep better with a slightly heavier duvet - so on the nights it has been cold I've doubled up on duvets and slept like a log.

The only problem is that I run hot.

So... is there a duvet anyone can recommend that is a) relatively heavy and b) not too hot? I was looking at wool ones but don't know if they're going to be too warm.

I have a wool one from baavet - I think it's a medium weight one and I use it most of the year, if my room is warmer than 21/22 degrees it's too hot but the rest of the time it's fine. I use an extra blanket when it's really cold. It does feel heavier than a normal duvet.
There is a bargains section on the website where you can get really good reductions on duvets that have tiny faults on them - I got one of those and its fine.

You could look into a weighted or compression blanket? They're thinner but have that sense of "weight".

@NannyR, that's what I'm concerned about - my bedroom is about 15, rather than 21/22! So I don't know if I'll be too warm and they're still relatively pricey for an expensive mistake...

We've got a Dormer full forever quilt, they do them in different togs. It's a lovely weight and has really kept its shape well. It looks very full and fluffy on the bed too. We've got the 13.5 tog as I never have the radiator on in our room, hate a hot bedroom so poor DH needs a thick duvet to shiver under until he gets warm!! It is very warm though and In hindsight I wish I'd got the 10.5 tog one.

I’d also recommend dorma from dunelm.

I've just spent a small fortune on a wool duvet and mattress topper as the night sweats have kicked in and I am either v hot or freezing cold or most commonly both at the same time ( how is that even possible ).
I am v disappointed to be honest ! I was seduced by the fact that they supposedly keep you at an even temperature but have noticed no difference at all. So I would save your money tbh.

My bedroom is usually on the colder side - no heating, but I find the medium weight duvet just right. It's too warm on summer nights (when the temp is over 21/22 ish) is what I was trying to say!!
