Come on then guys and gals, need to help with time management.

I have now got 2 1/2 week off work and my plan is to go through the house with a very fine toothcomb. Starting with my bedroom.

I can't seem to get my head round a time limit for each job.

Here are the jobs

  1. My bedroom, strip and re-paper 2 walls, repaint all walls, ceiling, coving and woodwork. Go through all drawers, videos and the wardrobe throwing anything not worn/used/watched for the last 6 months.
I also have to dismantle a double bedstead and make up this

  2. DD1s bedroom, go through all shelves and throw unused toys/books/videos, clothes etc that are too small. Re-arrange furniture, make up new bed, repaint four walls, ceiling, coving etc.

  3. Under stairs which is a junk area, take everything out, repaint walls and then put things needed back in, in storage boxes on shoes racks etc.

  4. Scrubs tops of cupboards all cupboard doors etc in kitchen, repaint whole kitchen

  5. Have living room carpet cleaned, take down ALL vertical blinds and fit roller blinds.

IF I get time I would like to repaint (a few, may 18 max) tiles in the bathroom, ceiling coving etc and also give the landing a lick of magnolia.

Anyone got realistic time limits, bearing in mind dh will help with alot of the lifting etc and do school runs

omg! what a lot of work

first of all do the clearing out of wardrobes and chucking of old stuff. common sense as ti will be less stuff to mvoe around when decorating. clearing out can take 10 mins to 2 hours - depending on how sentimental you get "oh look darling theres those shoes i wore to so-and-so's wedding" or "oh my god ive found that photo album i htought id lost"

wallpaper stripping can take from a morning to 2 days depending on the type of paper or the state the wall is in underneath. do you have an inkling?
the painting wont take long if you use a roller. say a day for each room.
making up the new bed will take ages. a whole afternoon and early evening unless your dh is fabulous at this type of thing.

dont push it and have plenty of tea breaks or you wil burn out and hide under the duvet on day 3

Thanks nailpolish. DH is crap crapola at flat pack and decorating, hence why i'm doing it. Walls are not too bad and we have a wallpaper steamer.

the day you do living room carpet - have that as a rest day. you probably wont be able to get into the living room for hours as itll be damp - take that as an opportunity to shop for new stuff for your new fresh house or even just go to the pub and have a break

OOOOOOOOOh pub for a screaming orgasm i yhink (yum)
